Christmas Wine Evening - Saturday 7th December

 

Steam train rides at Christmas aren’t just for children.  We are pleased to announce our first Christmas wine train on the Cholsey and Wallingford Railway, in conjunction with local wine merchant, Pierre le Vin.

 

Arrive at Wallingford station from 1900 and enjoy the sights and smells of the steam age, as our steam locomotive prepares to take you on two round trips of the line. Sparkling wine and other drinks will be available to purchase from our brake coach bar on arrival.  Find your seats in our warm 1950’s carriages.  Sit back and enjoy the journey as you are served six wines to sample at your seat.  We’ll return to Wallingford and make a second round trip around 2030. We'll finish the evening with a fine sherry and mince pies, returning to Wallingford around 2130.  We hope to convince you that an excellent sherry is very different to what you might normally find in a supermarket, and is worthy of a place on your Christmas wine list!

 

Tickets must be booked in advance and cost £30 per person or £180 for your own exclusive compartment (up to 6 people per compartment).
